Research

Our research services generate actionable insights that inform smarter decision-making. We conduct rapid assessments, in-depth studies, value chain analyses, and feasibility studies, using both qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover opportunities and guide impactful interventions across agricultural and development sectors.

Some examples of work our consultants have engaged in include:

The team carried out a nationwide study for the Mastercard Foundation on young women aged 18-35 years in the agro-allied and light manufacturing sectors in Nigeria to explore growth and employment opportunities. This research led to the co-creation of a five-year employment and empowerment programme for funding by the Foundation.

The team conducted a rapid assessment of the ECOWAS Leather sector spanning the raw material sourcing, aggregation and processing in tanneries to the wet blue form. It also explored opportunities aimed at integrating regional leather value chains for countries and businesses to derive benefits from the AfCFTA.

The team carried out a study for Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) on agricultural value chain actors’ access to Industrial Markets for sales of commodities, and their access to Agricultural Technologies to improve production and processing activities. This study covered all major value chains in the Niger Delta including oil palm, cocoa, and aquaculture.

Our consultants supported a review of the status of the horticultural market support facilities in the ten Tuhifadhi Chakula project regions in Tanzania.
